Recession

The sun was shining only yesterday.
Now the light of the sun has gone away.
Before everyone was free,
But captives now we will all be.
Only darkness everyday.

Memories of our previous way
Helps us through the dark day.
We thought of a memory,
The sun was shining.

We made our good thoughts stay.
We hardened them like drying clay.
‘Twas the fee we had to pay to be free
Of the deep dark drowning sea.
Good memories returned the sun’s ray,
The sun was shining.

This is my first attempt at writing a poem in the rondeau form.

Psalm 93

The Lord is King,
The Lord reigns!
His glory springs
Over universal plains.

He is robed in majesty and light.
Strength and power is braced
Through His belt so white
Secured around His holy waist.

The world is standing fast
And cannot be moved away
Your throne is from the past
And to eternity will stay.

The floods have raised my Lord,
The raging rivers have roared!!
But the Lord in heaven so high
Is mightier than the water’s cry
Or the waves that the sea supply.

Your word will remain for all days
Holy is Your house forever and always!

Mr. Malik

Once I travelled to a foreign place,
I stood in the streets with my suitcase.
Searching for a place to stay,
On a street corner I started to pray.

It started to rain as people passed by
Not noticing my luggage and I.
Oh Lord where can you be???
“All you have to do is trust in Me!”

A short Indian man approached me out of the blue:
“Are you looking for a room? I’ve got one for you!”

I didn’t have to pay for the room and the bed,
Until I get a job he said.
With money to spare for milk and bread,
So the Lord provided a place to rest my head.

A true story of my first day in London.

Me and You

I love you so much.
I miss you everyday.
I love it when we touch.
I know in love we’ll stay!

You are beautiful to me,
You always have a pretty smile.
Your spirit is free,
You dress the latest style.

We love each other always
We will carve our names in a tree…
We grow through all days!
We were meant to be.

Living Light

Our life starts with a new flame
Like a candle when it’s lit.
This flame slowly stretches,
And burns the wick bit by bit.

We feed on what is God’s wax
That we melt and work ourselves.
We drink this molten life,
And stay in perfect health.

Sometimes winds of trouble blow
And we feel the flickering pain.
But placed inside a lantern,
We have only more light to gain!

Those around us can see us shine.
Now midway through, our flame is tall!
Together with the objects in our life,
We cast the shadows on the wall.

As the wax decreases in our pot,
All our wrongs we want to mend.
So we use all the energy we’ve got
And try to shine until the end.

Our bright flame disappears
Together with the light we made.
And the molten wax hardens
As the memories of us fade…

King of Glory

I see the King of glory!
Towering above the earth.
Casting a shadow of mercy,
Since the worlds wondrous birth.

Even when we try to be holy,
All day long in sin we bathe.
We are a wicked people
And we are men of little faith!

We were sheep wandering astray,
Now our Sheperd has come!
He leads us to salvation
Available to all not just for some.

Now narrow is the good gate,
Hard is the path that we follow.
But wide is the disgraceful gate
And the masses it will swallow.

Saved by humility in our hearts
And God’s merciful love,
Our King’s suffering for our part
And The Spirit sent like a dove!

What is a suffering lifetime on earth,
Compared to eternal life of splendor?
Who can rise against us
When the Lord is our defender?

I will see the King of glory!
His holy light shining from Zion,
Unexpectedly coming to the world,
To save us from the den of the lion.

I Miss You

I can’t begin to tell you,
How much I miss you.
The whole day through,
All I seem to do,
Is think about you.

What I say is true,
It is not just the day,
But you are on my mind
All through the night too.

Your love was like a poison dart,
Through my veins
Spread to my heart.
There was no pain,
I wish I had it from the start.

It makes me feel good,
Like cream and strawberry tart.
You beat my sorrow,
When you played your card,
The Queen of hearts
I hate when we’re apart.

Memories of you hurt,
Because you are not here.
I really wish you were,
As I drop another tear.

I long for the day,
When your face I shall see!
I feel the joy, thinking
Together we will be!

It is not long now
Before we’re united.
But far too long,
For lovers unsighted…

He Fulfills Me

I was blind…
I wandered in darkness, until His love shined!

I had no goal…
I asked for direction, He guided my soul!

I was in sin’s grave…
I cried deeply, and He forgave!

I was in need…
I asked for fruit, He gave me seed!

I was afraid…
I asked for shelter, He gave me a blade!

I was dying…
I asked for life, He kept supplying!

I was in danger…
I asked for help, He sent me a Stranger!

I was lost…
I asked for guidance, He showed me a cross!

God Heals

Thank the Lord with his sword,
As my vitality is restored.
I asked Him to touch me,
Because my life was going roughly
And death I couldn’t afford!

He set me free and protects me,
Carries me when I can’t see!
I was heading to the end,
But He decided to extend
The person I need to be.

Terminally ill and over the hill,
Oh what a bitter pill.
But God raises the dead
Out of the grave bed
Because it’s His powerful will.

Just ask and wait for He is great,
The Lord is never late.
Jesus is the answer,
He cured my cancer
And changed my earthly fate.

Creation Acknowledges

The waves of the mighty ocean kneel over and over again,
continuously, before Him that has created all things.Through the night the frogs and insects sing songs of praises to Him
and at dawn and dusk the birds do the chorus!

The mind blowing stars proclaim His greatness in the universe.
The southern cross a sign of His gift to us.

The wind testifies of His unseen creation,
affecting our physical world daily.

The clouds uplifts His majesty to the heavens above,
and causes the water of life to rain down upon us.

Creation worships God unconditionally.
